This year marks the Tenth Anniversary of the Mayor’s Walk for Volunteerism and we are excited about all the activities planned for that day. Registration begins at noon on Sunday April 27th, at 12:30 we will kick off the celebrations with an appearance by AMBUSH in Confederation Park along with a barbeque lunch and free 10th anniversary cake for all! While listening to music families and friends can have their faces painted or have a balloon creation made in anticipation of the start of the walk. AMBUSH will play again from 2:00 to 3:30 pm in the park once participants are finished their walk. Join hundreds of participants at 1:30 pm as we take a leisurely stroll through historic downtown Kingston. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Encourage your friends and family members to support your charity of choice from amongst the numerous non-profit agencies that work to better our community by raising much needed funds for their programs. The money raised at the Mayor’s Walk stays in our community. Participants choose which charity they want to support with their pledge dollars and half the money raised goes to their programs and services. The other half helps Volunteer and Information Kingston continue to sustain volunteerism and community information & referral for Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington areas by supporting, training, referring and recognizing individual volunteers, agencies and non-profit groups. Volunteer and Information Kingston would like to thank K Rock, The Lake and Kix radio stations, Cogeco Television for their sponsorship and the Kingston BIA for their support of this event. "Ambush" band - playing from 12:30 - 1:30 and 2:00 - 3:30 "Belaire Catering" Anniversary Cake - Come and Enjoy! Complimentary BBQ - "Kenny's Hotdogs". Donations requested.
