Our volunteers positively impact the lives of millions of Canadians each year. While the financial contribution of St. John Ambulance community service volunteers could be calculated in millions of dollars, the contribution to the safety of Canadians is immeasurable. When Canadians need them, our volunteers have an unmatched record of answering the call. Our Therapy Dog Program brings comfort, joy and companionship to thousands of people throughout Canada each year. Well-trained and well-equipped, St John Ambulance Medical First Response volunteers are at countless public events to provide basic and advanced medical care when first aid emergencies occur.

ShelterBox Canada

Nonprofit

We provide shelter, essential items and technical assistance to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people recover and rebuild their homes after disaster. We listen and adapt our support to the needs of each community, working together with those affected by disaster, alongside our supporters and partners. ShelterBox teams work with disaster-hit families around the world, offering emergency shelter and other essential items to support them in rebuilding their lives. Every disaster is different and so is every community, so we spend time with those affected to make sure we can offer the right support at the right time to help them recover. See how we work. Our teams can travel by boat, helicopter or tuk-tuk to get to the families who need your support – whatever it takes to get to the people who have lost their homes to disaster. See where we are currently working. Volunteer with us: Every volunteer is instrumental in providing shelter to families after disaster, wherever they are in the world. Whatever skills, knowledge or spare time you have, you can play a vital part in this process. All we need is your passion. Together, we are making an impact and you are a critical part of this movement. If you don’t see a role below that fits in with your skills and availability, think big and get in touch anyway – we may have something else that suits you. - ShelterBox Ambassador: engage and activate across fundraising, awareness and action - ShelterBox Advocate: volunteer virtually by using your voice to raise awareness on social media platforms - ShelterBox Adventurer: turn your personal challenge into a fundraiser for ShelterBox - Rotary/Rotaract Club Champion: a Rotatian/Rotaractor who wants to share our message in their club *ShelterBox's Rotary and Community Fundraising Coordinator is located in Kingston, Ontario*

CK Rotary has a long history of responding to the needs of our community by awarding grants and providing volunteer service to other charitable organizations in the greater Kingston area that share our goals and core values. We welcome individuals who are looking for opportunities to improve our community today while investing in a better future for the generation of tomorrow. We believe that caring for and serving others is the best way to live because it not only changes the lives of others, but also changes our own. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” (Margaret Mead)
