Become a part of an enthusiastic planning team responsible for the Kingston Belleville Gutsy Walk that takes place on Sunday June 6 2027 . If party and event planning are something you love or want to do more of, this is for you.Gutsy Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is the country’s largest community event for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Since 1996, thousands of Canadians from coast to coast have stepped out—rain or shine—to take meaningful steps toward a future free from Crohn’s and colitis. For 30 years, participants, donors, volunteers, and sponsors have raised more than $57 million to fund life-changing research, patient programs, and advocacy efforts.

Friendly Visiting Volunteer

Kingston
Volunteers are matched with clients and provide one to one friendly visits in the clients home and/or community.One to two-hour friendly visits occur on a regular weekly or biweekly basis. Clients and volunteers may visit in the client’s home for things like conversation or playing cards, the volunteer can run errands with the client, or they can enjoy activities outside the home, like walking or visiting local parks. Visits are held Monday-Friday between 8:30am-4:30pm

Tetra Society Kingston - Volunteers Needed

The Tetra Society is looking for self motivated individuals with the skills to build custom assistive devices for Kingston residents with a disability. We are looking for engineers, carpenters, handymen, seamstress, anyone with the skills to contribute to a project that will give a Kingston resident with a disability, more independence in their life. There are no minimum hours, we appreciate any time that you can share your skills. You decide on the project you wish to work on, alone or with another volunteer. Tetra covers all the cost associated with the project, including transportation costs to and from the store and the client's residence. Minister MacDonald announces organizations to deliver the Local Food Infrastructure Fund: Community Support Stream to strengthen food security in communities across Canada

The initial recipients, Food Banks Canada and Second Harvest, will each receive up to $10 million in funding to further distribute through individual applications to eligible food banks and not-for-profit community-based organizations (known as ultimate recipients) to acquire and distribute food to families in need. Eligible community-based organizations are encouraged to use the Community Support Stream Initial Recipient Finder to determine which organization best serves their geographic area and needs.

Chatham-Kent man lives in storage container to raise money for local kids

A Ridgetown man is giving up his everyday comforts for a week in hopes of raising $12,000 for children and youth in Chatham-Kent. Isaac Davey began living inside a portable storage container in downtown Chatham at the Exordia Creative office at 5 Llewellyn St. on Monday as part of the “7 Days Contained, For the Kids” fundraising challenge supporting the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.
